CISF Jawan Chases Passenger at Delhi Metro After Suspicious Substance Is Spotted
A CISF jawan chased down Mohd. Shuaib at a Delhi Metro station after an X-ray scan flagged a suspicious object. Security personnel later discovered 155 grams of unidentified gold powder-like paste concealed in an undergarment.
The passenger, identified as Mohd. Shuaib, reportedly bolted towards the exit after the suspicious object was detected during the baggage screening process. A CISF jawan chased him, while colleagues joined the effort to secure him before he could escape.
Shuaib, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, carries a Malaysian address and works in the textile industry there. During subsequent checks, security personnel discovered 155 grams of an unidentified gold powder-like paste concealed inside an undergarment that had been stitched to hide the substance.
Further examination established that the substance was not a narcotic. However, Shuaib reportedly failed to produce documents establishing ownership of the material. The absence of ownership proof led to charges under the Delhi Police Act.
The incident has drawn attention to the role of alert security personnel in identifying suspicious baggage and responding quickly when a passenger attempts to evade screening. The CISF jawan’s pursuit and the coordinated intervention of his colleagues helped secure the passenger and enabled further checks into the unidentified substance.
